Joshua Tree: Haunted bookstores, pretty granite rocks, and plants in bloom.

Joshua Tree National Park

Joshua Tree National Park is land of the Yuhaviatam/Maarenga’yam (Serrano), Newe (Western Shoshone), and other tribes.

Don’t go there right now. I shouldn’t need to explain why.

I spent hours writing about Joshua Tree from our mid-February trip (when we and the rest of the world were still stupidly ignoring Covid-19) and then my computer deleted all of it. My computer is an asshole. I’m still working full time & have no patience or time to re-write any of it. If I had time—I would slow down, write, read, and sit in the sunshine.

Everything is going to be okay. Maybe. Here are some pretty pictures of Joshua Tree with abbreviated explanations.

Bookstore (probably haunted, also not open). Split Rock trail. Creepy ranger dolls.

Ryan Homestead, Ryan Mountain, Lost Horse Loop trail & Lost Horse Loop Mine.

Desert oasis. Mastodon Peak. Salton Sea. Ocotillo. Plants in Bloom. Abandoned gas station shoes.

The desert is weird. The end.
